League structure

Liga Județeană de Padel Brașov is organised into 1 Division:

Liga Judeteana de Padel - Editia 3

7 tiers · promotion-relegation system

The Liga Judeteana de Padel - Editia 3 division is structured into 7 tiers, numbered from 1 (the strongest level) to 7 (the base level).

The initial allocation of teams to tiers is made manually by the organisers, based on:

  • •Team composition
  • •Declared Playtomic level
  • •Standings in the previous edition

The league is played over 3 Phases. At the end of each phase, promotions and relegations are applied, so the tiers are reshaped for the next phase.

Fixtures

  • Faza I:16 September 2026 – 9 October 2026
  • Faza II:10 October 2026 – 2 November 2026

Registration

  1. 1.Participants register in teams of 2 players. A team may be made up of any combination of players, provided that it stays the same for the whole duration of the league.
  2. 2.Each team is registered in a single division: Liga Judeteana de Padel - Editia 3.
  3. 3.The registration fee covers participation in all 3 phases of the league. The registration cannot be changed or cancelled after official confirmation.
  4. 4.The organisers may refuse a registration or change a team’s starting tier according to its declared level and competition history.

🔄Partner change

  • •1 change per season
  • •Only between phases (not in the middle of a phase)
  • •Requires the organisers’ approval
3

Playing format

  1. 1.Within each phase, the teams in the same tier play each other once (round-robin system).
  2. 2.Matches are played as the best of three sets. The team that wins the first 2 sets wins the match.
  3. 3.Sets are played to 6 games. At 5–5 play continues normally. At 6–6 a tie-break is played to 7 points (with a 2-point margin).
  4. 4.Teams schedule their matches themselves, by mutual agreement, within the time window allotted to each phase. It is the responsibility of both teams to ensure that the match is played by the set deadline.

🟡Golden point

At 40–40 a deciding point (Golden Point) is played. There is no advantage.

⏸Match interruption

  • •Injury or special situation
  • •Break of 10 minutes maximum
  • •Organiser’s decision if the match does not resume

Scoring system

🎯Basic principle

A win is a win. Whether you win 2–0 or 2–1 in sets, you receive the same points. A loss brings 0 points, regardless of the score.

The points per win depend on the tier in which the match is played:

TierLevelPts / WinPts / Loss
Seria 1Strongest100
Seria 2Very strong90
Seria 3Strong80
Seria 4Intermediate70
Seria 5Lower intermediate6
5

Tie-break criteria for equal points

If two or more teams finish the phase on the same number of points in the same tier, the following criteria are applied, in order:

  1. 1

    Head-to-head

The tie is won by the team that won the direct match between them. The most intuitive criterion – if you beat them, you are above them.

  2. 2

Set difference (among the tied teams)

If 3 or more teams are tied, the difference between sets won and sets lost is calculated, exclusively from the matches between the tied teams.

  3. 3

Game difference (among the tied teams)

Games won minus games lost, from the matches between the tied teams.

  4. 4

    Set difference (overall)

The set difference from all the matches of the phase.

  5. 5

    Game difference (overall)

Overall standings

In addition to the tier standings in each phase, there are overall standings that accumulate all the points won by each team over the 3 phases, from all the tiers in which it has played.

  1. 1.Overall standings points = the sum of all points won in victories, from all phases.
  2. 2.A team that starts in Tier 7 and is promoted phase after phase may accumulate fewer points in absolute terms than one in Tier 1, but it can win the play-off finals once it reaches the play-off draw.
  3. 3.At the end of the league, the top places in the overall standings will be rewarded for consistency. The main prizes are awarded following the Play-off finals.

Example

Team X plays all 3 phases in Tier 1, winning 4 matches in each: 3 × 4 × 10 = 120 pts in total.
Team Y starts in Tier 7 (4 pts/win), is promoted to Tier 5 (6 pts), then to Tier 2 (9 pts). X has more points, but Y has made an impressive run and will go into the play-off.

Conduct and fair play

  1. 1.All participants must respect the spirit of fair play. Any aggressive behaviour, verbal or physical, towards opponents, partners or referees is prohibited.
  2. 2.After each match, both teams fill in a score sheet at the club reception before leaving.
  3. 3.Any dispute about the score must be resolved on court, before moving on to the next set. Later complaints will not be considered.
  4. 4.Players are responsible for the accuracy of the score they report. Intentionally reporting an incorrect score may lead to the team’s disqualification from the current edition.
  5. 5.Any manipulation of results is prohibited (e.g. losing on purpose to get a more favourable play-off draw). The organisers may investigate and penalise such situations.

⚖Disciplinary sanctions

In order of severity:

  1. 1.Verbal warning
  2. 2.Official warning
  3. 3.Loss of the match
  4. 4.Exclusion from the competition
10

Absences and forfeits

  1. 1.A team that does not turn up for a scheduled match without giving notice at least 24 hours in advance loses the match by forfeit: score 6–0, 6–0, 0 points.
  2. 2.The team that turns up receives the win and the points for its tier, as if it had played normally.
  3. 3.A team that withdraws from the competition loses all its remaining matches 6–0, 6–0.
  4. 4.A team with 2 no-shows in the same phase may be disqualified and is automatically relegated at the end of that phase.
  5. 5.Matches may be rescheduled with the agreement of both teams, if the match is played within the window allotted to the tier.
  6. 6.In cases of documented force majeure (injury, serious illness), the organisers may exceptionally decide to reschedule or cancel without penalty.

⏰Important

All players must be ready at the designated court at the scheduled time. No lateness is tolerated without prior notice. The organisers have the final say on penalties for absences.

Faza III:

  • 🏆 Play-off:28 November 2026

    Seria 7Beginner40

    Example

A team plays in Tier 3. It wins 3 matches out of 5 (whether 2–0 or 2–1 – it makes no difference). It receives 3 × 8 = 24 points.

    💡Why the system is fair

The higher tiers award more points because the level of competition there is higher. A team that wins in Tier 1 beats much stronger opponents than a team that wins in Tier 7, so it deserves more points.

The game difference from all the matches of the phase.

  • 6

    Drawing of lots

An extreme case, practically impossible after applying the previous criteria. An official drawing of lots is held.

  • The criteria are reapplied to subgroups: if a criterion splits a group of 3 into 1 + 2, the remaining 2 go through the criteria again starting from head-to-head, using only the match between them.

    Example

    A, B and C all have 24 points. Head-to-head matches: A beats B, B beats C, C beats A – circular! We move to criterion 2: the set difference from the A–B, A–C and B–C matches: A = +1, B = −1, C = 0 → Standings: A, C, B.

    ⚠Special rules

    • •Teams in Tier 1 finishing in places 1–2 are not promoted (there is no higher tier). They stay in Tier 1 for the next phase.
    • •Teams in Tier 7 finishing in places 5–6 are not relegated (there is no lower tier). They stay in Tier 7 for the next phase.

    🔁Statistics reset

At each phase change, the statistics (matches, wins, points per phase) are reset to 0. Previously accumulated points are reflected in the overall standings, not in the tier standings.
  • •Match 1: 1S1 vs Winner of play-in 2
  • •Match 2: 2S1 vs Winner of play-in 1
  • •Match 3: 3S1 vs 2S2
  • •Match 4: 4S1 vs 1S2
  • Semi-finals
